Privacy Policy
Last updated October 18, 2026
The short version: we keep what you tell us so we can find news for you. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Mind Your News is a website (mindyournews.com) and an iPhone app, run by Will Loughlin. This policy covers both.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code.
- What you write: your name, where you live and the "About you" text if you add them, and the description of each interest.
- What we make for you: each interest's brief and sources, the stories we found, which ones you've read, and your feedback on them.
- Notification settings and device tokens if you turn on notifications in the iPhone app (a token from Apple that lets us send pushes to that phone, and your quiet hours and time zone).
- Technical logs: our servers keep short-lived logs (IP address, requests, errors) to keep things running and stop abuse.
Who we share it with
- Anthropic (Claude). The AI editor is Claude, made by Anthropic. To plan an interest, judge headlines and write stories, we send Claude what you wrote about yourself and that interest, plus the articles being judged. Anthropic processes it to answer us and doesn't use it to train its models. You're asked to agree to this before anything is sent.
- Amazon Web Services sends our sign-in emails.
- Apple delivers push notifications to the iPhone app.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We fetch news from public sources (Bing News, RSS feeds, Reddit, Hacker News, Hugging Face, GitHub) using our own queries; we never send them your personal details.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Delete an interest and its stories go with it. Delete your account (under You, on the web or in the app) and we delete your account, everything you wrote, your interests, stories and devices right away. Backups roll off within 90 days.
Children
Mind Your News isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a meaningful way we'll say so on this page and in the app. Questions: [email protected].
